Our The Ténébreux, from the "L'Outrenoir" collection, is a burned and brushed Douglas cladding embodying a sober and refined aesthetic where material becomes texture and light. Its intense black hue with organic reflections reveals wood worked with precision, balancing the strength of fire and delicate craftsmanship.

The art of burned wood in architecture draws its roots deep from Japan, known as Shou Sugi Ban. This technique involves deeply charring the wood surface, revealing a fine carbonized layer that, like a natural armor, intensely protects the wood while offering an infinite palette of shades and textures.

The Douglas surface is burned and then brushed to highlight its natural relief. The intense black finish lends the wood a velvety spirit, revealing the grain in a soothing and lively chiaroscuro effect.
