How do you maintain burnt wood?
1. Regular Cleaning
• Outdoors: use a soft-bristled broom and mild soapy water (black soap or Marseille soap).
• Indoors: simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
To avoid: high-pressure cleaners or abrasive products. Always test a small area before applying any cleaning product.
2. Periodic Maintenance (every 4 to 5 years)
• Apply a thin layer of special burnt wood oil.
• Test on a small area before treating the entire surface to check the result.
• Apply lightly to preserve the natural appearance of the charred wood.
3. Special Conditions
• If the wood is heavily exposed to sun, rain, or weather, maintenance may need to be slightly more frequent.
• If the wood is lightly exposed, occasional cleaning is sufficient.
